Thomas A. Acuff is a Founding Partner of Prudent and is CEO with responsibility for the management of the firm.   He also has top tier general management and operations experience with some of the world’s largest multinational companies in Europe, Asia and the USA such as General Electric Company and ITT Corporation. For example, he served as Vice President Asia Pacific – Allis Chalmers (Fortune 500 rank 150th) and subsequently was Vice President European Operations – ITT Corporation (Fortune 500 rank 11th – European annual revenues $8 billion). For significant periods he was based in Singapore, Brussels and London.

Following his career in industry he has been successfully involved at the partner level in private equity for over twenty years.   He has been on the boards of major European, Asian and US companies, some of which as chairman.  He has been Chairman and President of the American Cancer Society Crusade in Kentucky.   A Naval Commander, he received the “American Spirit Honor Medal for High Example to Comrades in Arms” presented by Fleet Admiral William Halsey.

Thomas is a member of the Forbes Finance Council which is a leadership position in the North American business community.

Hervé de Carmoy is a Founding Partner and Chairman of Prudent.  He is a highly respected, senior manager and opinion leader in the business world in the United States and Europe and is known as a “safe pair of hands” . He has been Global or European Chief Executive of some of the world’s largest banks including Chase Manhattan Bank, Generale de Belgique,  and Midland Bank.   He has also had deep experience with private equity, the management of major industrial companies as chairman and board member, and has a leadership position with the renowned global  “Trilateral Commission” www.trilateral.org  A French national, Herve has an MBA from Cornell University.   Thomas Acuff has worked closely with Herve over a period of years and they have a documented track record of success together.

 

Robert Hanks is a Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Prudent. He has over 30 years of experience in private equity, mergers & acquisitions, and has held senior executive and financial operating management positions with multinational companies, such as GTE Corp. and Conrac Corp., operating in the US, Asia and Latin America. Most recently, he was Managing General Partner of a US private equity firm and served on the boards of both private and public companies. He served as CEO of a public company and as a director. Over the past four years, he has been a private investor/advisor in eight companies in the consumer/technology/industrial markets and serves on the boards of five of these companies.

  

Pat Cooper is a Partner of Prudent. He has over 35 years of banking experience having served in a variety of senior positions working in the Philippines, Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States with Chemical Bank (now J.P. Morgan) and Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank). He has a strong background in corporate and municipal finance, commercial lending and private banking. He is a founding board member and President and COO of Salt Marsh Investments, LLC. From 2006-2009 he was President and CEO of First Bank of the Palm Beaches, a de novo community bank.    Pat currently resides in Palm Beach, Florida and is a respected member of the community serving in both public and private positions supporting town activities. He is also Chairman of the Board of Camp Boggy Creek, a medical camp for seriously ill children ages 7 – 17 which opened its doors in 1996.  It was co-founded by Paul Newman and Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf and Mr. Cooper has been involved since 1998.

 

Jim Prouty is a Founding Partner of Prudent. He has been President Continental Europe, Bank of America and President International Heller Financial prior to acquisition by GE Capital  Most recently he has been CEO of Eclosion, a consulting firm specialized in change management. He has been President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and Head of the Federation of American Chambers of Commerce in Europe. Today he is CEO of SFRE (Sapphire) which is a major “sustainability finance” fund with assets in the range of US$ 50 million.

 

Robert A. Gough, Jr., Ph.D. is a partner of Prudent.   He has over 30 years of experience in management, investments, and investment banking. He has consulted with senior decision makers at some of the world’s largest Fortune 500 companies including Bank of America, ING, Microsoft, PPG Industries, Standard Oil of CA, and United Technologies; as well as national and international government policy makers including the Office of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Great Britain, the Japanese External Trade Organization, the Bundesbank, the U.S. Department of Defense, and led the forecasting team for President Reagan’s Grace Commission.  He has also testified frequently before U.S. House and Senate committees on U.S. fiscal, monetary, and budgetary policies. He has helped to establish or expand several companies in the biotech, communications, software, internet, and investment spaces.  He is renowned for his public speaking in both this country and abroad on the effects of economic, technology, and government policies on investment opportunities and growth strategies.   He has been CEO of several companies in the areas of Big Data/predictive analytics, software, management consulting, and media, and was Chief Investment Strategist of a New York based alternative investment company. He has served on the Boards of both private and public companies in the investment, technology, and industrial markets. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Duke University.
